Barbara Ann Corcoran

               Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly after. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. Since her inception, she has been in every seasons of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had closed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran says that her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After flunking several courses during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
